Czech Partners Box, 1930s

$1,600.00

A cool and rare ‘partners box’, made in the 1930s out of fruitwood and gilt-brass. The box is asymmetrically aligned, with the lid of each side of the box opening opposite one another. This allows for two ‘partners’ to sit across from one another and access the box. ‘Partners’ accessories were a whole category of desk goods, made for businessmen who would work across one another on a partners’ desk, which would have two openings on either side for people to sit.

This is a fantastic example of deco design in a wonderful, rarely talked about category of accessories.

Measures: 7.5” x 4.5” x 1.25”
